SODA WORKS 2025
Final Works MA Solo/Dance/Authorship
Following two years of practice led research at the HZT Berlin, students graduating from MA Solo/Dance/Authorship present their final performance work. Each new group of students brings their own personal research questions to the MA SODA program and each year is different from the years before. The heterogeneous performances present a wide range of individual body-based performances. The works respond to and are driven by dance and choreographic modes of artistic practice within contemporary solo and collaborative processes.
We are excited to showcase the works by Michael(a) Daoud, Jemima Dean, Leon Locher, 陸肇欣 Frieda Shao Shin Luk, Angélica Roa, Andrii Romanenko.

Naledi Majola„In Flux“ was a performance of Black gender play, with suits and the performer’s body as its primary materials. An expression of a desire to become uncapturable. In Tschoe One "Venn Bodies" artists with different interests and backgrounds exchanged their works of art and interpret each other’s works from their own artistic perspectives, exploring the diverse relationships that emerge. In her body-based investigation "Ang-ish Thing(s)" Min-Suck Kim aimed to s(t)imulate the emergence of the Ang-ish Thing(s) as a parasitic being between cuteness and the monstrosity behind it. Nicole Wysokikamien "In my next performance I will make you laugh" unfolded like:
a childhood picture
an imagined choreography
a play on nostalgia
an impossible translation
a place between tenderness and sorrow
a question of how and what to dance
In Crispin Lord "Resurrection (A Bad Copy)" the performer was an assistant director. He is tasked with piecing together a revival of Peter Maxwell Davies’ music-theatre work Resurrection (1987). In Matteo Haitzmann "Make It Count" various disciplines were brought together using a technique called "Jumping Hypnosis".
